Philly Tap Teaser

The idea for Philly Tap Teaser started out as a "teaser" showcase for the annual Philly Tap Challenge festival. Quickly, it evolved into an "open mic" night for tap and music. The main premise was that absolutely anybody could participate and have a chance to share their work with an audience. As with any idea, the series evolved, stretched and changed, thanks to the people who participated in it. Starting around 2010, each show had live accompaniment, and by 2013, participants were performing their work to live music.  The final performance at the Ethical Society was sponsored through a microgrant from Small But Mighty Arts. Over the course of eleven shows, approximately 300 tap dancers and musicians had performed in the series.
